Oct 2004 to date: Provide day-to-day bookkeeping, accounting and payroll services for clients. I prepare monthly and year-end accounts, issue invoices, pay all the bills and run Petty Cash.
Apr 1999 - Sep 2004: Career break.
Dec 1997 - Apr 1999: Assistant Finance Officer - Housing/IT support, YWCA, Clarendon House, 52 Cornmarket Street, Oxford.
Responsibilities: Permanently seconded to an IT team to prepare, develop and implement the SunSystems accounting software, which was a new accounting system. This involved customising the software to our needs. Developing and writing procedures and reports for all accounting functions (sales & purchase ledgers, credit control, bank and petty cash, month end accounts, debtors and creditors, year-end reports). Managing the migration of all accounting functions over to the new system. Training other members of the department to use the new accounting system.
Sep 1997 - Jan 1998: Temporary Finance Officer - Non Staffing, YWCA.
Responsibilities: Temporary position to facilitate the amalgamation of two sub-sections within the finance department. Review all procedures to bring consistency and develop new procedures where necessary. Facilitate training within the finance department and within hostels around the country.

Responsibilities in addition to those below: Manage and support the Finance Department's 18 PC network. Extensive use of Microsoft Word and Excel, creating spreadsheets for use across the department.

Responsibilities: Dealing with twelve individual hostels to ensure the hostels work within the guidelines set out upon creations of the individual trusts. Running the hostels purchase ledger, dealing with all the accounting functions necessary for the individual hostels. Preparing Financial Accounts and assisting the auditors as necessary.

Responsibilities: Dealing with twelve hostels to produce cash/petty-cash books from the information received on a regular basis from the hostels, producing monthly and annual accounts. During this time, I was also responsible for the piloting of a computerised purchase and nominal ledger system.
